14, 2017 board meeting.  Reverend Webb replaces Ronnie White who has served as president  the past three years, the time limit he can hold that office according to the Mount Pleasant Habitat bylaws.

Thankfully, Ronnie White will continue volunteering his services to Mount Pleasant Habitat.  It is an organization he believes in. Ronnie led us through two complete house builds and launched us on our present house. He has served on numerous committees over the years and has promised to continue with those responsibilities.

Moving Ahead

Today, 5/8/17,  a crew was at the building site early this morning digging the footings, laying and tieing the steel reinforcements, and pouring the concrete.  The second day of the 2017 Women’s build is on GO!!!! for Tuesday May, 9th. We will need all hands and the cook to help move the panels we build Saturday from Tennison Methodist Church to the build site on E. Ninth. Hope to you tomorrow at Tennison or the build site on Ninth Street.

Women’s Build 2017

Who knew that hard work could be so much fun?

Women and men joined together May 6, 2017 to begin construction of our newest Habitat house.  Kristin Bogart, pastor of St. Andrew  United Methodist Church was our key note speaker and got us off to a great start.  Panels were built behind Tennison United Methodist Church and moved to the building site.  They will be raised as soon as the  cement can be poured for the foundation.

Women’s Build Moved

Women’s Build May 6th will be moved to area behind T-Mac at Tennison United Methodist Church on Church and 3rd Street. Due to problems beyond our control the foundation has not been poured at the designated site. We will be constructing panels, then moving them to the construction site. We still need all the volunteers that are signed up in order to meet the requirements for the Lowes grant. Hope to see you Saturday, May 6th.

Lowes Habitat Clinic 4/22/17

Saturday about 23 volunteers gathered at Lowes for instruction on how to safely use power tools. Thanks goes to Lowes and employees who provided all the help and advice.

Our Women’s build is moving forward. We hope to see you May 6, 2019 at our building site  908 East 9th street.   We start with prayer and a light breakfast and work till everyone goes home.  Come for an hour, 2 hours, 4 hours, or all day, and join with other women of the community interested in giving a hand up to a hard working family.
