Tuesday, May 9, 2017 was the second day of the 2017 Women’s Build in Mt. Pleasant. Thanks to all the women and men who showed up to help us make our quota in order to qualify for the Lowes’ grant that will help us so much. A special thanks to the women from Pittsburg who stopped whatever they were doing and came to work on our house at 908 East Ninth Street here in Mt. Pleasant.
Today, 5/8/17, a crew was at the building site early this morning digging the footings, laying and tieing the steel reinforcements, and pouring the concrete. The second day of the 2017 Women’s build is on GO!!!! for Tuesday May, 9th. We will need all hands and the cook to help move the panels we build Saturday from Tennison Methodist Church to the build site on E. Ninth. Hope to you tomorrow at Tennison or the build site on Ninth Street.
Who knew that hard work could be so much fun?
Women and men joined together May 6, 2017 to begin construction of our newest Habitat house. Kristin Bogart, pastor of St. Andrew United Methodist Church was our key note speaker and got us off to a great start. Panels were built behind Tennison United Methodist Church and moved to the building site. They will be raised as soon as the cement can be poured for the foundation.
Women’s Build May 6th will be moved to area behind T-Mac at Tennison United Methodist Church on Church and 3rd Street. Due to problems beyond our control the foundation has not been poured at the designated site. We will be constructing panels, then moving them to the construction site. We still need all the volunteers that are signed up in order to meet the requirements for the Lowes grant. Hope to see you Saturday, May 6th.
